The GRAMMY's Bee Gees Tribute Show Was A Successful Celebration

By  April 23, 2017

A few months ago, the GRAMMYs paid a tribute to the pop group Bee Gees and it recently aired on national TV in the US.

The tribute show: Stayin' Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees, was kicked off by Demi Lovato, Tori Kelly, Little Big Town and Andra Day with a medley of Stayin' Alive, Tragedy, How Deep Is Your Love, and Night Fever.

The show was in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Saturday Night Fever Bee Gees soundtrack and it saw many award winning artists come together to perform the Bee Gees' hit songs.

Here are a few of them:

Tori Kelly - Tragedy

DNCE - Night Fever

Keith Urban - To Love Somebody

These were just a few of the many performances on that show. Other artists that took part in this tribute included Panic! at the Disco, Ed Sheeran, Stevie Wonder, and even Barry Gibbs himself!

Barry, the last surviving member of Bee Gees, took to the stage to perform Jive Talkin', You Should Be Dancing, and the finale together with the rest of the ensemble for Stayin' Alive.

I think this tribute was a huge success just by the fact that 20th century and 21st century artists come together to celebrate timeless music. It's absolutely wonderful to witness because it's a reminder that despite the time changes and evolution of people's lives, music will always be a common connection that everyone shares, and that old music is still Stayin' Alive to remind us of the roots of music and its olden culture.
