Miley Cyrus Has Decided To Ditch Her 'Wrecking Ball' Phase For Something Close To Home

By  May 20, 2017

We all remember the "Hannah Montana" era of Miley Cyrus, right?

Just as we all remember her "Wrecking Ball" phase.

We had all thought that that wasn't just a phase but Miley's permanent artist persona, but well, it looks like she's decided to hang up her wrecking ball and go back to her sweet country roots.

That time she explained what happened to Hannah Montana.

Recently, in an interview, Miley mentioned that her Wrecking Ball video was her worst nightmare. She spoke about how she had realised that she had something to say and emotions to share with the world.

She told Billboard, "... right now is not a time to not give a f*ck about people,” she says. “I’m giving the world a hug and saying, ‘Hey, look. We’re good -- I love you.’ And I hope you can say you love me back.”

Miley also realised that if she wanted her voice to be heard and taken seriously, she'd have to change her image: “I don’t think those people are going to listen to me when I’m sitting there in nipple pasties, you know?”

She mentioned that her fall out with Liam Hemsworth did play a part in making her want to change. Her wild persona was part of the reason they called it quits in 2013 - she admitted that she needed to change herself. She even revealed that she had given up smoking weed, saying, "I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”

And this change is actually very evident in Miley's latest release, Malibu, which shows her going back to her country roots. Even her recent photoshoots show a sweeter version of Miley, reminiscient of her Hannah Montana days.

Personally, I never had that much of a problem with Miley's older way of expressing herself but now I fully support her decision to change herself - now that she really knows what she wants to do with herself.

You can see she's really grown and matured since her crazy days and quite frankly, it's refreshing to see a burst of raw passion and emotion from her as she finds her true self again and returns to her roots once again. (Maybe Taylor Swift could even take a couple of tips from her!)

Here are some throwback songs of hers as well as her new tune, Malibu. Tweet us and tell us what you think changed Miley!
