5 GIFs That Perfectly Describe How We Feel About Hayley Williams' And Chad Gilbert's Split

By  July 7, 2017

Remember when we wrote about the Hayley Williams' and Chad Gilbert's wedding?

That was in February last year. Fast-forward 16 months later, it has now turned out that what we described as #punkrockrelationshipgoals is no more.

It really makes us wonder: does true love even exist???

The Paramore frontwoman and New Found Glory guitarist met while both their bands were on tour and were together for a whopping 10 years before finally tying the knot in February 2016.

So you could imagine the look on our faces when we first heard the unfortunate news about their split.

Watch this live performance of The Only Exception by Paramore and notice Hayley wearing a New Found Glory hoodie. Watch it and tell us it's not the cutest thing ever.

The break-up news is just an April Fools' joke that is three months late... right? RIGHT?!

In a deleted post on Chad's Instagram account that was accompanied by a joint statement by the pair, they wrote: "We’ve grown up together and we’ve been beside each other through a lot of goodness and a lot of challenges… Marriage is not for the faint of heart. Love is an absolute risk. And it’s up to each of us to stay hopeful even when the outcome isn’t what we’d originally hoped for."

Our hearts are completely shattered and we can't help but feel frustrated at how reality never fails to detroy good things.

Oh well.
